Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 25, 2026

This policy explains how the current Micro Chronicle product handles information. Opening and Saga are independent product lines. Accounts and project data associated with the same email address are kept separate between the two lines.

1. Information We Collect

2. How This Information Is Used

We use the information above only to provide interview, speech transcription, intelligent follow-up, content organization, book creation, export, and sharing services; maintain account and service security; count page visits and product usage; and assess whether new accounts arriving from a particular public marketing page subsequently complete an interview, create a book, or share content. We do not sell your data or use interview content for ad targeting.

3. Third-Party Processing and Necessary Disclosure

To perform speech recognition, large-language-model organization, speech synthesis, image understanding, or verification-code email delivery, we provide the relevant text, audio, images, or email address to the third-party services actually configured for this site, but only to the extent necessary for the corresponding feature. Third parties may process this information under their own rules. Please explain this process to participants before an interview, and do not submit sensitive content that is unrelated to the interview’s purpose or unsuitable for third-party processing.

4. Cookies and Acquisition Attribution

Login session cookies maintain your signed-in state. If you arrive through a public marketing link containing UTM parameters, we use an HttpOnly cookie named xll_acq to store the source, medium, and campaign identifiers for up to 30 days. This supports acquisition-channel reporting after a new account registers. The cookie does not store interview answers and is not used for cross-site ad tracking. After you clear browser cookies, later visits can no longer be associated with the earlier campaign identifiers.

5. Storage Periods and Deletion

Data is stored on Tencent Cloud servers in mainland China. Participant recordings are retained for 30 days by default and deleted by a cleanup task when they expire. Visit-statistics detail records are retained for 180 days by default. Interview data is managed by the interview initiator. Deleting an interview list cascades to its sessions, transcripts, and recording files according to the product’s rules. You may request account cancellation, and data under the account will be handled through the service process.

6. Sharing Links and Public Display

Memoir sharing links can have passwords and expiration dates, and can be revoked. Anyone who receives a link may still forward it or save page content, so before sharing, confirm which people should see the book’s text, voices, photographs, and family information. Using the service does not mean you consent to our use of your stories for promotion. Using a real person’s identity, voice, likeness, or family stories in a public case study requires separate, explicit authorization from the relevant rights holders.

7. Your Rights and Participants’ Rights

You can review, revise, and export content you manage, delete interview lists, or request account cancellation. A participant who wants to correct or delete their answers or recordings can contact the interview initiator for assistance. Names, dates, and important events should be checked with family members; AI-generated content should not be treated as a guarantee of factual accuracy.

8. Policy Updates and Contact

When product features or information-handling practices change materially, we will update this policy and show the revision date. To exercise the rights above or ask about information handling, contact the site administrator.

Before recording, uploading old photographs, or forwarding family stories, obtain consent from the people involved. Public distribution and use within the product are two different authorization scenarios.
